Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Gets a Release Date

Nearly one year ago, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon was released– a modern action platformer in an 8-bit styling reminiscent of Castlevania III. It was created as part of a Kickstarter stretch goal for the mainline title, Bloodstained: Ritual of the NightRitual is a metroidvania game heavily inspired by the Playstation classic title Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, a game featuring exploration, RPG elements, and upgrades that increase your ability to traverse the varied environments.

I have long been waiting for the release of Ritual of the Night but last year I absolutely fell in love with Curse of the Moon. It’s beautifully nostalgic, has a great soundtrack, multiple characters with unique abilities that can be switched on the fly, and some of the best boss fights you can find in a 2D game. It was the perfect way to tide fans of Castlevania over until Ritual comes out. If you haven’t played Curse of the Moon yet, I highly recommend it.

I was pleased to learn that today Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night FINALLY got a release date. It had been pushed back so many times but we now have a hard date and the latest trailer looks like it will be well worth the wait. Extra care has been taken to address concerns surrounding the visuals and animations contained in previous demos and trailers which undoubtedly contributed to recent set backs in its release.

So what’s the release date?? Ritual comes out June 18th on Playstation 4, PC, and Xbox One while the Switch release will take place a week later on June 25th. We are just over a month away and I couldn’t be more excited.
